I am a nerdy scientist from Maine, living in Worcester, Massachusetts. Currently, I am working on my PhD at UMass Chan Medical School. Outside of the lab I enjoy playing DnD, sewing, crocheting, and reading.
Hailing from northern Maine, I'm a first-generation college student pursuing a Ph.D. at UMass Chan. Growing up amidst Maine's rugged beauty instilled in me lessons of resilience and hard work. Throughout my non-traditional college path, I've embraced every opportunity to contribute to my community and remain deeply committed to the mentorship of younger generations. Now, immersed in my doctoral studies, I'm passionate about advancing research in genetics and bioinformatics, and leveraging my education to make a meaningful impact. My journey reflects my unwavering commitment to learning, growth, and breaking barriers.
I am interested in many different areas of research and really appreciate the diversity of interdisciplinary work. My scientific interests are in bioinformatics, genetics, metabolism, diabetes, obesity and adipose tissue.
